(652) Orchestra 2

The Orchestra 2 course at Dwight D. Eisenhower High School is a one-year course that offers students one unit of credit. Designed as a continuation of Orchestra 1, Orchestra 2 is a course that is open to all students, grades 9-12, who already have previous orchestra experience. Students enrolled in Orchestra 2 will be graded based on their musical proficiency on their instrument. In addition to their daily responsibilities, students will be expected to participate in the Middle School Co-op Concert on Friday, March 9, 2018 in the Main Gym, the CHSD 218 Arts Extravaganza (Date and Times TBD), the IHSA Organizational State Music Contest on Saturday, April 14, 2018 (Times and Location TBD), and the Spring Orchestra Concert on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 6:00pm in the PAC. Interested students who would like to pursue chamber music studies in tandem with their participation in Orchestra 2 have the opportunity to prepare a program for the DDE Chamber Music Concert on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 7:00pm in the PAC and the IHSA Solo/Ensemble Festival on Saturday, March 3, 2018 (Times and Location TBD). Students are highly encouraged to continue their progress on their string instrument by re-enrolling in Orchestra 2 every year.
