National Honor Society
MEMBERSHIP
The Dwight D. Eisenhower Chapter of the National Honor Society is now accepting applications for new members for beginning in the new school year (2026-27). Students who appy will be notified when school resumes in August, whether or not they were accepted as candidates.
The National Honor Society (NHS) is a national organization designed to recognize outstanding high school students. The society is dedicated to four pillars: scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Each spring potential candidates are invited to apply. Membership is determined by a Faculty Council and each fall the new members are inducted during a special evening ceremony. The Eisenhower Chapter of the National Honor Society inducts sophomores, juniors, and seniors who have demonstrated the qualities demanded for NHS membership.
To be considered for membership, a student must have met the following requirements:
Freshmen:
- A minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA (unweighted)
- Participation in at least 2 clubs, activities, or athletics over the past 2 semesters
- Demonstration of outstanding character and leadership qualities
Sophomores:
- A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (unweighted)
- Participation in at least 4 clubs, activities, or athletics over the past 4 semesters
- Demonstration of outstanding character and leadership qualities
Juniors:
- A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (unweighted)
- Participation in at least 5 clubs, activities, or athletics over the past 6 semesters
- Demonstration of outstanding character and leadership qualities
Members of NHS participate in school and community service projects and must perform a required number of service hours (both inside and outside of school) to remain a member in good standing.
2025-26 Meeting Dates:
Meetings are generally held on the first Wednesday of every month (there are a few exceptions) and attendance is expected.
All meetings are after school at 3:20 pm in the LRC
(Elected Officers also meet the week before to prepare)

Induction Ceremony - Wednesday, October 29, 2025 (Invitations will be mailed)
Service Trip to Feed My Starving Children - Saturday, November 15, 2025
Dr. Seuss Birthday Party - Saturday, March 7, 2026 9 am - 11 am in the Cafeteria
