Ms. Latimer
About Me
My name is Victoria Latimer, and I am one of the special education teachers at Dwight D. Eisenhower High School. I have been teaching since 2019 and hold a Master of Education in Special Education Depaul University (Go BLUE DEMONS!). I am deeply committed to prioritizing my students' access to education and providing a safe space for them to learn and grow. One of my favorite educational quotes is, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world" — Nelson Mandela. I believe every student has unique strengths and endless potential, and I look forward to partnering with our families and community to help them succeed this school year!
Welcome to our class! This page is your go-to hub for everything we will be learning and exploring together this school year. Below is a quick overview of the courses I teach:
-
Special Education Geometry: We focus on making core geometric concepts, shapes, spatial reasoning, angles, and real-world problem-solving, accessible, practical, and engaging through hands-on practice, visual tools, and tailored individual support.
-
Physical Science: We explore the foundational principles of chemistry and physics, diving into how energy, matter, forces, and motion interact to shape the physical world around us through interactive discovery and experiment-based learning.
My goal is to create an inclusive, supportive environment where every student feels confident, challenged, and ready to succeed. Feel free to explore the rest of the page for syllabus details, supply lists, and my contact information!
