Greetings!
My name is Toyia Miller-Peters and I am a licensed clinical social worker at Dwight D. Eisenhower (DDE) High School. I have been with Community High School District 218 district since 2007. Currently, I work with regular and special education students whose last name begins with GE - Q. However, I have a vast array of background experiences in community health, child welfare, public assistance and educational systems from pre-school through high school.
As a school social worker, I work collaboratively with school counselors, administrators and community agencies to support students and families in need of assistance due to a variety of circumstances. Through advocacy, prevention programs, brief counseling, crisis intervention and referrals, I am able to help students work through difficulties in their lives and as a result, give them a better chance of succedding in school and achieving their educational goals.
