Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year.

 

To my Chemistry students and their parents/guardians:

I am very excited about presenting an amazing hands-on chemistry experience for my students. This year will be filled with discovery and connections to our everyday life that will deepen due to a personal experience in class. I promise to provide students with as much support and information as possible. Google Classroom will be an invaluable resource to them. In there, they will find everything they could need to be 100% succesful in chemistry. 

 

To my Anatomy and Physiology students and their parents/guardians:

Welcome to a year that will provide discover of how our own bodies work. We will dive into our different systems to see how they work independently and then how they work together. My hopes is to inspire a love for how our bodies work that will inspire you to pursue this topic in your future and apply what you have learned to your everyday life. 

 

This is my 22nd year teaching in District 218 and at Eisenhower High School. I student taught at Richards High School while earning my Masters Degree from DePaul Univeristy. I have an undergraduate degree in Biology and Biochemistry from Augustana College and worked as a chemist before chosing to become a teacher. I have been a science geek my entire life and chemistry has always been my favorite and most challenging subject. 

 

I look forward to a year filled with new discoveries and relationships. Your students will be be provided a classroom experience in addition to the hands on, and most fun, chemical activities that will enhance the learning process and hopefully make chemistry more relevant for them! I will be available two days a week after school if anyone needs help. Students will also have access to useful videos and web pages in Google Classroom to help them when they are out of the building or struggling with homework or studying at home.

The following information provides my schedule for the day and the Google Classroom Codes students will need for this school year. Parents, please feel free to join the Classroom as well. As a parent of a former high school student I found it very useful to do this myself to help my teen stay on track and so I could better understand what was going on in her classes.
