Introduction
Hello! My name is Dr. Justin Antos, and I am one of three music teachers here at Dwight D. Eisenhower High School. The 2023-2024 school year marks my 16th year in education, and I have served at DDE for the last 15 of those years. School Involvement
In addition to the curricular groups I teach, I also direct the following extra-curricular ensembles:

Grading and Retake Policies
As outlined in the student handbook, each of the aforementioned courses follow the CHSD 218 grading scale, which is illustrated as follows:
  • 100%-90% = A
  • 89%-80% = B
  • 79%-70% = C
  • 69%-60% = D
  • 59% or lower = F

The opportunity for retakes applies to all Type I and Type II Assessments. Students will NOT be eligible to retake weekly practice grades (i.e., SmartMusic Practice). Students must be either (a) in attendance for the original assessment (e.g., concert performances) or (b) submit the original assessment (e.g., written work, video demonstrations) by the deadline to be eligible for the retake. Retakes can be performed as many times as the student wishes, as long as the retake is completed before the next graded assessment. After that point, the window for retakes closes. Circumstances for make-ups will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
