Sandra Wasserman, Social Worker

Hi - I am a social worker here at Eisenhower High School and am part of the Support Services Department.  I have worked here as a social worker for 25 years.  I have a Bachelors Degree in Sociology from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana and a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Chicago.  My role in the school is to be an advocate for students and their families.  I work as a part of each student's educational team.  I work with both special education students as well as regular education students providing support counseling services, crisis intervention, conflict resolution services and a variety of other serviced depending on the need of our students.

I also serve as the Homebound Coordinator for students who are out of school for 2 or more weeks due to illness, pregnancy or hospitalization and require home tutoring to help them keep up with their school work.  I am the facilitator for our Student Assistance Program where we coordinate Substance Abuse Prevention and Intervention Services through the SAP counselor who is here from Rosecrance Treatment Center providing services to students who may be at-risk for or currently using alcohol, tobacco, marijuana or other illegal substances.

I am at Eisenhower full time and can be reached by phone at 708-597-6300 ext. 4440 or by email at [email protected]. Feel free to contact me with any concerns you may have related to student needs.
