All Students
Please be advised that following doors are the ONLY doors open for students from 7:30am – 8:00am
- S1 – Pool/athletic entrance
- W1 – PAC entrance
All other doors will be locked. 
Students arriving to school AFTER 8:00am MUST use the main entrance N1.
 
  • Beginning August 30th, students will not be allowed to bring outside food or beverages into the school after 8:00 am (9:30 am on Resource days).  Students are provided a free breakfast each school day and coffee is served as well.  The administration thanks you for your cooperation with this matter.
 
  • Students who have detention should report to room 123 by 3:25 each day.  Students, please remember to check your email and Skyward to see if you have any questions.  You can always stop by the attendance office to see your dean, if you have any questions.
  • Would you like to win a brand new Xbox One X?  And an extra controller?  And a one year Game Pass?  And hard copies of the games NBA2K20 and Madden??  If so, please stop by room 108 and buy a raffle ticket from Dr. Szeszycki Mann!  Tickets are $2 each or 3/$5.00 and are being sold to support the students who are going on the trip to Peru in 2021.  The raffle drawing will be Friday, February 21st during 8th period!  Thank you!
 
Bowling
Congratulations to the girls bowling team for winning the SSC Red Sportsmanship award as voted on by the conference.
Congratulations to Jill Trubitt for taking 6th place out of more than 40 bowlers at the conference tournament.
Express Show Choir
Congratulations to the Express Show Choir this past weekend on receiving 1st runner up at the Manteno Main Event!  A special congratulations to Carson Chavez for winning "Most Outstanding Performer in a Show" and Macor Martinez for winning the Overall Solo Championship!
Come out and see the Express Show Choir this Friday in the PAC at their showcase!  The show begins at 7 pm and tickets are $4 for students.  See you there!
Speech & Drama
Congratulations to the Cardinal Speech Team, who competed at the IHSA Sectional Tournament held at Reavis High School on Saturday.  The team had 4 fianlists, and will be advancing 3 events to the IHSA Speech State Finals in Peoria this weekend.  Congratulations to Seniors Travaris Hudson, Chris Reyes, Yessica Calderon, and junior Caleb Brantley!

Girls Bowling
Congratulations to Jill Trubitt on qualifying for sectionals with her 5th place finish at regionals over the weekend.  Go Cardinals!
Talent Show
The talent show will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 3:50 p.m. in the PAC.  Come out and support your fellow classmates as they showcase their talents.  Admission will be $1.00.

Boys Basketball
Congrats to the boys basketball team on defeating Shurz High School Tuesday night in overtime 83-80.  We were led by Taijon Barry with 24 and Jemel Jones with 20.  The boys are now 21-6 on the season and have one home game left this year next Thursday night.
AACA
AACA will be hosting a 90's Community Kickback with DJ PacMan on Friday, February 21, 2020.  The Kickback will be held in the cafeteria from 7pm-10pm.  Admission is $5.00.  Tickets will be sold during lunches.  Invite family and friends and pack the place!

Baseball
There will be a mandatory baseball meeting on Tuesday after school regarding baseball tryouts.  Go to room 331 immediately after school.  If you are currently in a sport or club, stop by room 331 to pick up an informational sheet before going to practice.  This meeting is mandatory for anyone interested in trying out for baseball this year.
